Your Task
Each student will be assigned to a team. Your team will research several types of poetry. By doing this, you will begin to familiarize yourself with different terminology, forms, and writing styles of poetry. Each team member will then begin working on his or her own Poetry Portfolio. This portfolio will become a collection of work that you should be proud to show your family, friends, and classmates.
Your completed Poetry Portfolio should contain:
Students will present their Poetry Portfolios to the class at the end of the semester.
Your completed Poetry Portfolio should contain:
- A self-designed cover page
- A table of contents
- A glossary of poetry terms
- Five samples of famous poetry that you found during your research
- A basic analysis of the significance of those famous poems, using some of the terminology you learn in your research
- Samples of three different forms of poetry that you have written
- A printed copy of the rubric found on the "Evaluation" page of this WebQuest (this explains how I will grade your completed Exploring Poetry WebQuest)
Students will present their Poetry Portfolios to the class at the end of the semester.
